Originally opened in 1936 as a hill climb event in the grounds of Goodwood Park motorsport from then on was in its blood. Based in West Sussex the Goodwood Racing Circuit opened its gates in 1948 to host the first post-war motorsport event. The first event since the second world war attracted 15,000 fans to watch the 85 drivers take part in the rebirth of British motorsport.
In 2008 Goodwood celebrated the tenth anniversary of the restored track were once a year the Goodwood Revival takes place as a period reminder to the glory years attractiing well over 100,000 visitors last year.
