Castle Combe Circuit has been open since 1950 making it one of the UK’s oldest circuits opening its gates only 18 months after Silverstone. Up until 1999 Castle Combe used to follow the original perimeter of the old air base. By the 70’s the circuit was hosting Formula 5000 races but planning constraints meant it couldn’t be developed into the international racing venue everyone wanted. In 1976 the planning restrictions were lifted and development started leading to hosting many national championships. The new circuits is now regarded as offering the closest racing anywhere in the UK and is loved by both spectators and drivers themselves. Recently resurfaced Castle Combe offers excellent facilities for both drivers and spectators.
